The Adventures of a Plastic Bottle by Alison Inches is an informative and clever children's book that depicts the life of a plastic bottle from petroleum refining and processing, through recycling into a new product. Gives a good overview of the life cycle of a plastic bottle. Hopefully this will help educate people on where plastic bottles come from -- oil! -- and that they require a lot of energy to be produced and recycled. Reusing your own container is the best way to reduce plastic bottle consumption, especially for water since most municipalities in the U.S. have good drinking water (not if you live in Flint, Michigan, unfortunately).
